"The Eagle Has Landed" written by Jack Higgins, watercolor,1989
Once again, this was done for the "Masters of Suspense" series for the Easton Press. This book was really
a great read if you like this sort of thing,which I do. Spies, Nazis, and Winston Churchill are all
in this one. It's about a Nazi plot to assassinate Churchill and has some interesting twists and turns.
This illustration is very monochromatic but I really like the feel of it. The German paratroopers are
arriving on a beach in England in the middle of this very foggy and inhospitable environment. Lanterns
are placed along the beach by their accomplices to allow them to see where they are going.
