"Chinese Silk I",21" x 22",watercolor,1986
This is an example of what I consider my fine art. I am very interested in painting the figure. This is
one of a series of paintings I have referred to as the "Chinese Silk paintings". All these paintings
involve the drapery you see here or the bright red drapery with peacocks on it.These silks came
from China circa WWII from an admirer of my mother's. I guess he hoped it would put him in her
good graces but alas she married another (my dad). I've admired these silks since I was a child
and always intended to make something out of them. Well, it ended up I made paintings out of them!
